The Holidays are over...

It's been a while since my last blog. So much has been going on here lately. We both started our our new jobs, and we love them! :) We have been house hunting, and I think (maybe) we have finally found the PERFECT house! It will depend on the home inspection and all of that good stuff! We've had a very long Holiday Season, that was very enjoyable, but I am OH SO GLAD it's over!

We celebrated Thanksgiving at my Parents this year. It was such a fun time! Chris, Jaime & the kiddo's were there, as well as Jaime's Mom, Joanie, and Eric parents & Travis came as well. We all had a really nice time. The food was wonderful, as if that is a surprise because my Momma is Martha Stewart when it comes to cooking!!! I was off the day after Thanksgiving this year for the 1st time in 11 years! And it was oh so nice. :) I was already finished with all of our Christmas shopping, so I didn't go brave the mall crowds, but Eric did! He chose to go out to buy my Christmas presents that day, so he could enjoy the Holiday Season for once and not do last minute shopping on Christmas Eve, like he has always done in the past!

On Christmas, we got up and were both very lazy, so we went and got our presents from under the tree and had our Christmas right in our bed! It was very comfy and oh so cozy! I got Eric a PS3 and a game to go with it (which he has NOT stopped playing) and a new pair of Oakley sunglasses, that he designed online in September (but at the time I convinced him we couldn't afford, then went behind him and bought them...I'm such a sneaker!) He got me a new Coach bag (which is gorgeous, and I LOVE), the Sarah Jessica Parker BITTEN black & white check coat I have been wanting, and some much needed (cause I've been out forever) Beautiful Sheer perfume. We had a great Christmas!

After we did our own Christmas, we went and had Christmas breakfast with my family at my Parents. My Mom goes all out when she cooks for the Holidays, so we had Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Country ham, Hashbrowns, Biscuits , apple butter...all the good stuff! :) After breakfast we opened presents where the family sent My Dad & Grant on a scavenger hunt to find out their gift was a trip to Boston, MA May 8-10 to g to the Red Sox/Tampa Bay baseball game. Grant was so excited, as was my Dad, and they can barely wait to go! Everyone really enjoyed their gifts. Eric got a really nice framed Kentucky Basketball print that is autographed, that is sure to go in his "man room" at the new house! :)

After everything was opened at my Parents, we went on to have Christmas with the Lawson Clan at Mammaw & Pappaw's house. I think there were 80+ people there this year, which is all "immediate" family!!! :) We had a blast. I love getting together with my WHOLE family!!!!! There were paper ball fights going on all over the place. We had such a great time! And the best part....My Mammaw's dumplin's! (YUM!!!)

We had to leave the Lawson Clan Christmas a little early, because we were due at Eric's Grandma/Grandpa Jameson's house. We arrived to find another lovely spread of food and another great time! Eric's grandma made everyone this beautiful handmade blankets...I LOVE mine!!! We had a great time. Finally, our Christmas Day was over...and we were exhausted. We got home and passed out!!!

We did Christmas with Eric's parents and Grandma/Grandpa Munson on Saturday because Eric's Grandparents couldn't get in town until Friday night. We had another lovely Christmas dinner with them and then !Eric got more PS3 games (YAY!) and money to go on the Nikon Digital SLR camera he is saving to buy, and I got all kinds of goodies...Love Spell perfume, 2 purses, and all kinds of bath & body works stuff!

Finally, the Christmas celebrations are OVER...and we have a Sunday to just lay around and do nothing!!! YAY! I got up and fixed breakfast this morning, but judging by the time, it was more like Brunch! :) And now we are lounging in bed. I am writing this blog and Eric is playing Call of Duty on his PS3. I hope everyone had as BLESSED of a Holiday as we did! Merry Christmas everyone, and have a BLESSED New Year!

(I'll post all the pic's later...)

New beginnings...

Both Eric & I were recently BLESSED with new jobs. I will be working at Humana beginning November 3 & Eric started a job yesterday (October 20) at a Surgical Technician Center. We are both very excited about where our careers are headed!

I will be leaving Valhalla after 10 years and 7 months of employment. YIKES! I am so very scared of leaving the comfort of knowing my job and being surrounded by friends! But I am taking a step of faith, and I know the Lord is leading me down the paths that I need to go at this point in my life. I am excited, and I can't wait to begin the next stage of my career at Humana!

Eric was working as a driver at Logan's, and left there to get on a better schedule. He was having to get up at 4 in the morning in order to be at work by 5, and then working 10-15 hour shifts everyday! We are very glad he has gotten out of that, and is now on a normal work & sleep schedule!

We are very excited about our new beginnings! :)
